I finally had a good reason to make these:
The inside:
I used the recipe for Whipped Cream, Cream Cheese Frosting from AllRecipes. It was exactly what I wanted; light and fluffy and not too sugary. I was thinking-wouldn't these be fun with black and orange for Lu's birthday? I always have Halloween on the brain. Where can I get black food coloring?

The cupcakes look so tasty. I got a set of Wilton's Icing colors at Christmastime. It claims to have black...I haven't tried it yet, but I know it exists!
How did you get the layers not to blend together for 1 ugly color?!
I used this recipe and made Ashlynn's 1-year birthday cake. It's so fun! I think that black and orange would be really fun!
